I've always really liked wires, but the right one never came across my path until I came across this unusual combo. I ended up bringing home Arras, from Andrea's litter, and I loved her dearly. I had extremely high hopes for her and she matured very much as I expected. Tragically, Arras escaped from the yard and was hit by a car when she was six months old, shattering her pelvis. Her recovery has been nothing short of miraculous, but she was never going to be able to safely have a litter or be safe running with my group. I sadly made the decision to rehome her to a very loving pet home, where she's thrived. Throughout the experience, Andrea was very supportive of myself and Arras, and down the road we discussed breeding options for her sister, Kisby, with the hopes of me getting a puppy from her. With Andrea unable to breed Kisby herself at this time in her life, she generously offered me the option of leasing her for a litter and it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. Neither of us wanted to waste this unusual pedigree. Kisby's pedigree on both sides of the family includes some exceptional show and lure coursing dogs, as well as some country of origin unusual lines. I have always wished for more diversity of pedigree in the wire Ibizan Hounds and this litter has it. Kisby was shown exclusively by Andrea and finished from the BBE class. She was awarded BPIS when she was a puppy, and went on to be award two Group Threes at a hound specialty show. Her father, Cwis, comes from multiple generations of champions, dual champions and multiple Best in Field winners. His sire, Puka, is highly successful in the show ring, with many group wins and placements, and multiple Best in Specialty wins and is a National Specialty BOS and Select Dog winner. Cwis' maternal grandmother, Ingrid, is a multiple BIF winning, multiple group placing dual champion. Cwis' paternal grandsire, Siegfried, was a multiple group placer and multiple BIF winner who also spent time oval track racing and open field coursing. Her mother, Skipper, has a unusual pedigree containing multiple successful US pedigrees with country of origin imported lines. Her mother, Bambi, is a multiple BIF winning dual champion, who had a very successful lure coursing career. Skipper's maternal grandfather, Pogo, is a Hall of Fame winner and one of the top-winning wire Ibizans of all time in both the show ring and on the lure coursing field. He was a multiple Best in Field and Best in Event winner, and the only Ibizan to date to win Best in Field at the ASFA II. He was a multiple group winner and placer and one of the US top-winning owner-handled wires of all time, well into his veteran years. Skipper in line bred on her sire, Pindaro, who is from imported Spanish lines that are almost unused in North America and he also is a producer of many champion dogs. |
