In May of 2011, I added my first Ibizan Hound, Jason, and created this website to keep track of our performance and show adventures as we learned together. Jason was a wonderful first Beezer and his addition to my family started a trend, and I have now shared my home with many Ibizans. Currently, I live with three: Evie, Sam and Hela. They live with my wonderful Fleura, the Afghan Hound. I've been fortunate to have some truly amazing Ibizans, who utterly wrapped my heart around this breed.
Ibizan Hounds are an incredible breed. They are extremely athletic, friendly and loving, and very funny to live with. They are silly and fun-loving, and super affectionate with their family, human and dog alike. They can be naughty and puppy-like even into adulthood, and a sense of humor is a must when dealing with them. They are still very much a natural, more primitive breed, and in tune with their original purpose; these are very much hunting hounds and their hunting and prey drive is very strong. If they have an opportunity to chase prey, they are going to take it. In 2018, after initially falling in love with her mother four years prior, I added my first Afghan Hound, Fleura. As with Jason, that first dog you have in a breed sets the stage for the ones that come after, and in Fleura I was truly given a once-in-a-lifetime dog. She is a brilliant performance dog, and a funny and sweet personality to live with. It quickly became apparent to me that she was exceptional, so with the support and mentorship of her breeders and the performance community I decided I will undertake breeding a second breed.
