I had admired her mother when I met her several years ago, and her father and his littermates have a lot of consistent qualities I value in the breed, so this was a breeding I thought was quite nice and with a combination of pedigrees that was more unusual. I looked forward to seeing them maturing every week - they are a beautiful litter. One little girl caught my eye at about four weeks old and always gave me a smile; little "Blue" and her sassy attitude shone through the camera lens. I held off inquiring about her due to Dean's recent introduction to my family - they are only two months apart in age and I had to really mull over adding two puppies in the same year so close in age. Week after week, I kept waiting for this girl to become unavailable to some lucky performance or show home. Finally, I couldn't resist any longer and inquired about her, and that was that. The dog networking community enabled her to make her way here from Montana, with the help of her extended human family and my close friend, and she became the first female Ibizan in my home.
Evie is sweet as can be, and loves to cuddle and squirm her way under the covers at night. She was a determined huntress from the start, and has a great sassy streak to her. She has tons of personality and loves to play and learn new things. She is a blast to live with and she and Dean are the very best of friends. She loves her large canine family and her tomboy personality is a wonderful fit for the rowdy boys. Evie is a super athletic and prey-driven girl; she really shines at lure coursing, with her AKC Field Champion majors coming from the 2017 Ibizan Hound National Specialty and the 2017 AKC National Lure Coursing Championship. She was overall high-scoring Ibizan at both events (tied at the NLCC). She also finished her ASFA Field Championship at the 2019 Beezer Bash with a second place out of a large entry. All of Evie’s points and placements have been earned with significant competition. She has been a driven hunter since she was a puppy and I routinely free hunt her. Evie is the household princess, and I think she will be a very accomplished girl as she matures. |
